Program overview

The Bachelor of Applied Informatics in Marketing (BAIM) at Mbeya University of Science and Technology (MUST) is designed to develop competent, innovative, and flexible graduates with a solid foundation in informatics, data analysis, and marketing principles. The programme responds to the growing national and global demand for professionals who can , enabling them to develop effective ICT solutions for digital marketing campaigns and strategies that leverage technology for better results that foster the drive towards socio-economic development. 

Students benefit from MUST’s experienced academic staff, modern laboratories, and blended learning approach using both face-to-face delivery and technology-enhanced platforms such as Moodle, Zoom, and Google Meet. The curriculum integrates technical knowledge with applied training, including two supervised industrial practical attachments and a final-year project that build problem-solving, teamwork, and entrepreneurial capabilities. 

Graduates acquire knowledge in applied informatics, digital marketing strategies, consumer behavior, and business intelligence; practical skills in data analytics, e-commerce platforms, social media marketing, database management, and customer relationship management; and competences in applying ICT-driven solutions to marketing challenges and business decision-making. These outcomes prepare graduates for diverse careers as digital marketing specialists, business analysts, e-commerce managers, data-driven marketers, and CRM officers in government, private, and international organizations, while also providing a foundation for further studies in applied informatics, marketing analytics, or related fields.
